The completion of a doctorate is always a source of great joy for The Lay Centre community. On November 26, a Lay Centre alumna defended her doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum).

Loredana Fabijanić successfully concluded her studies in Rome with a dissertation titled: “Religious and National Identity: An Analysis of Matters of National-Catholicism in the Student Population in Croatia Born 1995-2005.”

She was a Lay Centre “Leadership Scholar” from the academic years 2021 to 2023. The Leadership Scholars received full scholarships to study at one of the pontifical universities in Rome, made possible through the generosity of Lay Centre benefactors.

Dr. Fabijanić left the community shortly before completing her doctoral degree. After expressing interest in finding volunteer work with a Church institution, The Lay Centre introduced her to Caritas Internationalis, a Vatican-based Catholic charity organization, where she is currently employed.

The Lay Centre community proudly gathered with her, along with some family members and friends, at a festive lunch to celebrate this significant milestone in her professional and academic journey.
